The Importance of a Good Posture

Many people today are used to being in a posture, that is blocking their energy. And this is more than just a habit. It is about the way your body has developed.

Chiropractors say, that you can learn the right way to stand with no problem. There isn’t anything fundamentally different in people with bad postures.

The truth is, that it is all about the way your muscles are developed. Only when there is a balance between them, you can choose your posture.

For example – the difference in musclular development between the abs, and the lower back. If you feel better slightly bent down, then you have stronger abs, than lower back. Which means, that it will be hard for your lower back muscles to support your body if you try to correct your posture.

Another example – chest vs back muscles. This is about your shoulders. The correct position for your shoulders, is as far behind as you feel it to be comfortable. Stand in the mirror and you’ll see how far behind is enough. You may notice, that while it feels good for a second, it takes concentrated effort in order to stay that way. This is because your chest is stronger than your back.

The third and last muscle group that we will say a few words about is the neck. Many people have never considered, that this can be a muscle group. There are muscles there too, you know. Otherwise you wouldn’t be able to see anything in front of you, because your head will be looking down all the time.

Here we are not talking about imbalance. Only about what happens if your neck muscles are weak. When you push your head back, it may feel uncomfortable if like most people you have neck muscles that are not strong enough. However, if you develop the strength in this muscle it will make huge change in the way you feel. First – it makes your posture a lot more attractive. Second – you will improve the blood flow to your brain. And this, my friend is just so important. Since your brain will be getting a lot more oxygen, you will have a lot more energy and motivation for everything.

As you see, the right posture can transform your life in so many ways. It can tell you if you are developing a natural, harmonious body. If your posture is not perfect, and that almost never happens, this means you can improve the balance between the strength of your muscles.
